Christmas this year will be very different for lots of us and none more so than those who are most vulnerable. Here are some of the ways you can help us help those who need it most this Christmas.
A gift with a difference
Have you got an Auntie who is impossible to find the perfect present? Or a nephew who has no idea what he wants for Christmas but would like to know he has helped someone?
This year you can give a gift that helps to make a difference by making a donation to CHAT in someone’s name this Christmas
The cost of these cards have been kindly sponsored by a local business so you can be sure 100% of your donation goes towards our charitable work.
Reverse advent calender
In previous years we have found that January can be busy in the foodbank as the extra pressures of Christmas take their toll.
Perhaps you would like to use our reverse advent calender as a way of making sure our foodbank is well stocked to cope with that extra demand. On the calendar we have suggestions – all starting with C for Christmas or CHAT!
You might like to do this in your family, workplace or school classroom and you can drop this into our office at any time but we are having a special time of 21st December between 1-3pm where you can also meet some of the team and have a mince pie!
Christmas booster packs
In the early part of December we will be delivering Christmas booster packs to households we (or partner agencies we work with) know will benefit from a little extra at this time.
Some parents will be struggling to afford gifts for their children and we know people want to help. We would like to include a voucher for those that need it most, so that parents can chose the gifts they know their children will enjoy.
If you would like to donate towards this please see here for the different ways you can donate. Please quote Christmas voucher, or contact us and let us know that you have donated towards this and we will make sure your gift is used for this purpose.
Instead of sending Christmas cards this year you can make a donation to CHAT and let your friends and family know you are thinking of them. You can download the image here and share it on social media or email it to everyone!
